TIMELINE: TO A PLAN

Congress Reintroduces the national Plan FOR EPILEPSY ACT

On February 11, 2025, The National Plan for Epilepsy Act (S.##/H.R XX) was reintroduced by bipartisan Senators Eric Schmitt (R-MO) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), and Representatives Jim Costa (D-CA) and Greg Murphy (R-NC).  The epilepsy community is grateful for their leadership. Now What? 

Since it is the end of the Congress, a new bill will need to be introduced in the House and Senate. Following both Chambers will need to secure enough supporters to pass the bill before it can go to the President for Signature.

On December 5, 2024, a bill to establish a national plan to coordinate research on epilepsy, and for other purposes, was introduced in the Senate (S.5353) & House (H.R. 10210)
